Crochet term conversion chart

I use both English & American crochet terms and thought I should create my own handy table for future use. Click on the image to open full size and print or right click and save to your computer. Enjoy!

  1. I’m making your giraffe pattern right now. Thank you for the conversion chart to American terms. It’s greatly appreciated. I do have one question. When you say to “miss 1 stitch” in round 6 of the giraffe head or on any other decrease round, you actually mean skip a stitch, or is there supposed to be a decrease? Thank you for such a lovely pattern!

    • Yeah, I guess it’s not as clear as it could be – in English terminology a slip stitch and a single crochet stitch are the same thing. They’re both an American slip stitch.
