Wesley church

This is a little Methodist church on the outskirts of Hunstanton. A lot of the buildings in this area have the same red and white two tone effect of the cliffs, so I guess it’s all local stone.

I’ve managed to get this one to look exactly like a watercolour sketch I would normally do in real life, even down to the slight muddying of colours in the shadows on the right wall and the not-quite-right stonework colour, so I’m very pleased :) with the added advantage that I could do this broken into 10 minute chunks over the course of a rainy Sunday afternoon.

I pretty much “painted” it as I would a normal sketch from life but I could try several iterations of the original sketch, correct a few mistakes along the way and try out a few different ways of achieving the same thing:
